About this calculator

Exact age, and the dates around it

Age is counted in whole years, then whole months, then days, which is why it cannot be worked out by dividing the number of days by 365. Leap years and months of different lengths both shift the answer. The calculator gives the exact figure along with the total in months, weeks, days and hours, and the date of the next birthday.

You can also measure age on any date rather than today, which is what forms asking for age as at a particular date usually need.

Working days and countdowns

The working days tab counts the days between two dates excluding weekly offs and any holidays you add. It handles the Indian banking pattern of Sunday plus the second and fourth Saturday, as well as the usual five-day week, which matters when working out a deadline or a notice period.

The countdown tab gives the days, weeks and remaining weekdays until an exam, a trip or a deadline, and reports past dates as days ago.

Common questions

How do I calculate my exact age?

Count complete years from the date of birth, then complete months, then the remaining days. Dividing total days by 365 gives a slightly wrong answer because of leap years.

How many working days are there between two dates?

Count the calendar days and subtract weekly offs and holidays. The calculator supports a five-day week, Sunday only, or the banking pattern of Sunday with the second and fourth Saturday.

Can I count the days until an exam or a deadline?

Yes. Enter the date in the countdown tab and it gives the days, weeks and remaining weekdays, along with the months and days.
